Item Description: | Fictitious account, in the form of a letter dated Boston, July 22, 1775, of a decisive American victory over the British at Boston. Signed on p. [2]: Philip Progg, captain of the 6th regiment of Pennsylvania rifle-men. Within the text is an account of the subsequent naval engagement, signed: Andrew Springe. At foot of p. [2]: The foregoing account was brought from Ireland, in the schooner lately taken at the eastward, by the Continental cruisers; and though designed as a burlesque, perhaps may prove prophetic of what, in some measure, may happen before long. Text in two columns. |
