Summary:The Gamma Chapter of Sigma Epsilon Fraternity originally organized as a local fraternity named the Friars in 1908. In 1919, it became affiliated nationally with Sigma Alpha Epsilon and operated on the Lafayette College campus until its closing in 1997. Contains 143 initiation reports of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Gamma Chapter, 1966-1976. Donation in 2020 added the following to the records: "The Friars Club" records: an eating club that joined SAE circa 1919 (signatures include J. Alfred LeConey, Olympic Medalist, Philip Showalter, Nobel Prize laureate, 1950. President Hutchison '18 may have been a member). Minutes of SAE: Sept 1922-Jan 1927, Sept 1952-Jan 1953, Spring 1955. SAE Initiation Reports: July 1, 1919-Oct 25, 1960.
