Summary: | Atmospheric drama based on a chilling true story of serial killer Peter Manuel and Detective William Muncie's struggle to bring him to justice. Over two years he murdered eight people in an area less than a twenty six mile round trip by car, traumatising the tight knit communities of South Lanarkshire. Manuel evaded capture for so long because he was unlike anything the local police had ever encountered. He was a murderer without any discernible motive whose victims were chosen at random. William Muncie was one policeman who was determined that he would finally get this man. Peter Manuel, recently released from a nine year prison term for a series of sexual assaults, is determined to make Detective William Muncie, the man responsible for his incarceration, pay the price. After a further sexual attack on a young woman, Manuel elects to defend himself in court. Muncie is afraid this is the last time Manuel will ever leave a witness to testify against him, and he doesn't have to wait long to be proven right. |
